Farmer Found Dead on Cocoa Plantation in Ondo

Kehinde, a farmer, left his residence for his cocoa plantation on Thursday, September 3, 2026, but did not return home, prompting family members and residents to search for him. His lifeless body was later found along a road leading to the farm, causing mourning in the community.

Sources indicated that Kehinde may have been attacked by criminals operating in the area. However, some of his harvested produce were found at the scene, creating uncertainty about the motive behind the attack and whether any items were stolen.

Police officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer, visited the site after the body was discovered and transported it to Iwaro General Hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed his death. The body was deposited in the hospital’s mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident and stated that a thorough investigation had commenced to uncover the circumstances surrounding Kehinde's death and bring those responsible to justice.
