Ondo State Distributes Relief to Ilaje Flood Victims

On Wednesday, the Ondo State Government distributed relief materials to residents of Ilaje Local Government Area affected by recent flooding. The distribution, coordinated by the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA) in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), took place at Ignokpda.

Relief materials included foodstuffs, mattresses, blankets, and other essential items to support families whose homes and livelihoods were disrupted. Deputy Governor Dr Olayide Adelami, represented by ODSEMA Secretary Mr Richard Aina, assured victims of ongoing support from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration.

He emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening emergency response mechanisms and urged residents to adhere to safety advisories. NEMA's Head of Operations, Mr Olanrewaju Kazeem, stated the distribution aimed to alleviate hardships faced by residents.

Ilaje Local Government Chairman Hon Maurice Ola Oripenaye noted that nearly 10,000 residents registered for assistance, reflecting the flood's severity. He urged compliance with government warnings to prevent further flooding issues.
