Ondo State Warns Against Unapproved Herbal Substances

The Ondo State Government has cautioned residents against the consumption of unapproved substances, herbal drinks, and concoctions after a recent incident in Odigbo Local Government Area that reportedly resulted in fatalities. In a statement issued on Thursday by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, the government urged the public to avoid substances of dubious origin, emphasizing the importance of safety and health as priorities for the administration.

The government also warned sellers and distributors of uncertified substances to cease such practices, as they pose significant public health risks and may incur legal consequences. Investigations into the Odigbo incident are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the deaths, with the government appealing for calm and discouraging the spread of unverified information.

Hon. Taiwo Adegboye, Chairman of Odigbo Local Government Area, was commended for his intervention. The government reassured residents of its commitment to safeguarding public health and urged them to report suspicious activities related to dangerous substances.
