Protests Erupt Over Fasoranti's Return as Ondo SSG

The reappointment of Taiwo Fasoranti as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Ondo State has led to protests from citizens who argue that his previous resignation to contest the Ondo Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, followed by his loss in the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disqualifies him from returning to the position. Ayodeji Ologun, Chairman of the Ondo Redemption Front, criticized the prolonged vacancy of the SSG position, stating that it reflects poor governance under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Ologun emphasized that the SSG role is critical for policy coordination and administrative efficiency, and questioned whether the office has become a mere political holding space. He called for stronger governance institutions that prioritize public service over individual political ambitions, highlighting the need for urgency in filling key government positions.
