Fasoranti Reappointed as Ondo State Secretary to Government

Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti has been reappointed as Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG) by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, effective immediately.

Fasoranti had previously resigned from the position on March 30, 2026, to contest the APC senatorial primary for Ondo Central, which he officially lost to incumbent Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire. However, his camp claims he actually won the primary, alleging that the APC’s National Working Committee substituted him.

This claim is central to a lawsuit filed by Aiyedatiwa loyalists against the party’s national leadership. The SSG position remained unfilled for nearly four months, suggesting that the governor intended for Fasoranti to return if his senatorial bid failed.

Fasoranti is the son of the late Pa Reuben Fasoranti, a prominent figure in the Afenifere socio-political group, and sidelining him could risk political friction. Aiyedatiwa praised Fasoranti's experience in public administration and governance, urging him to serve with dedication under the state’s Our Ease agenda.
