Ondo PWDs Endorse Tinubu, Seek Greater Empowerment

Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Ondo State have officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, expressing their support during a declaration program organized by the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) in Akure. The endorsement was made by representatives from all 18 local government areas, who cited Tinubu's administration's efforts in promoting inclusiveness and providing a sense of belonging for persons with disabilities in governance.

Mrs Arise Folashade, the Chairman of the Ondo State Agency for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, emphasized the need for more empowerment programs to enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of PWDs. She acknowledged the support from Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior.

Engr Gbalajobi Babatunde, the Ondo State APC Special Leader, noted the inadequate political representation of PWDs and urged them to actively participate in politics and national development, framing disability as a matter of rights rather than charity.
