Ondo State Urges Unity for Peaceful APC Primaries

The Ondo State government is advocating for peaceful and orderly conduct during the upcoming APC primaries, set to take place on May 15 and May 20. In a statement issued on Wednesday, State Commissioner for Information Idowu Ajanaku highlighted the significance of the primaries as a democratic process that should be conducted transparently and without violence or rancor.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa expressed a commitment to maintaining order throughout the electoral exercise, in line with directives from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Ondo State chapter of the APC has pledged to adhere to the guidelines established by the national leadership of the party, emphasizing the need for unity and discipline among members to strengthen the party ahead of future elections, particularly the 2027 presidential re-election bid.

The governor also appealed to security agencies and electoral officials to ensure a credible electoral process across the state.
