Ondo State Government Calls for Unity Ahead of APC Primaries

The Ondo State government has called for peace and unity among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the upcoming primaries, scheduled to take place from May 15 to May 20, 2026. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, through a statement issued by Idowu Ajanaku, emphasized the need for aspirants to prioritize collective interests over personal ambitions.

The primaries will determine candidates for the Ondo State House of Assembly and Senate seats. The governor described the primaries as a critical democratic exercise and stressed the importance of transparency and orderliness throughout the process.

He noted that the APC must adhere to democratic principles as laid out by national leadership and that the exercise is significant for consolidating the party's future electoral victories, particularly in light of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. The state government appeals to stakeholders to ensure a credible and successful electoral process.
