Ondo State Partners with Lifespring for Health Services

The Ondo State Government has entered into a partnership with Lifespring Development Foundation (LSDF) to manage healthcare commodities, particularly focusing on sexual and reproductive health. This initiative aims to prevent shortages and wastage of essential health commodities.

Dr Toyin Adeyalo-Ogundare, the state Reproductive Health Coordinator and Deputy Director of Family Health in the Ministry of Health, stated that this collaboration, which began earlier in the year, is part of the Federal Government’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Project. The partnership is operational in three local governments: Ondo West, Ese Odo, and Ifedore.

A two-day training workshop for state health workers was conducted to enhance their capacity in forecasting and managing reproductive health commodities. The workshop, sponsored by LSDF and the logistics management unit of the ministry, aims to ensure that health workers can accurately predict the needs for maternal and child health and family planning services, thereby avoiding understocking and expiration of healthcare commodities.
