One Dead, 16 Injured in Yobe Road Crash During Rally

On Thursday, a road crash in Yobe State resulted in one death and 16 injuries as members of Governor Mai Mala Buni's entourage arrived at the airport for a rally organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC). The accident occurred around 6:30 PM, reportedly caused by overspeeding in heavy traffic congestion within the airport premises.

The Yemabu Emergency Response Team arrived shortly after the incident to provide first aid and evacuate the victims. One person was confirmed dead at the scene, while the 16 injured were taken to the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Dr. Moham Lawan Lamusawa, the Executive Secretary of Yemabu, attributed the accident to reckless driving and urged motorists to obey traffic regulations to prevent such incidents.

Governor Buni later visited the victims in the hospital, expressing condolences to the family of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
