One Dead, Seven Arrested in Lagos Communal Clash

A communal clash in Lagos resulted in one death and the arrest of seven suspects, as reported by the Lagos State Police Command. The incident occurred on the Badagry Expressway in the Ijanikin area, where a man identified as Akinyemi Omo Akin was shot and later died in the hospital.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the clash involved a gun duel between rival cult groups. The police, led by Abimbola Adebisi, intervened to clear blockages and restore normalcy.

Seven suspects were arrested, and local-made pistols along with live cartridges were recovered. The police warned against any actions that threaten public peace and stated that the full weight of the law would apply to troublemakers.

The command is conducting a full-scale investigation, with a significant police presence deployed to maintain peace and prevent further violence in the area.
