Fatal Lexus SUV Crash on Lagos Coastal Road Claims One

On Friday, a grey Lexus 350 SUV with registration number L$D 554 KV lost control while traveling along the Coastal Road towards Eko Hotel, resulting in a crash that killed one person and injured three others. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, confirmed the incident, stating that agency officials responded after receiving reports.
Prior to LASTMA's arrival, good Samaritans had rescued the injured victims, who were subsequently taken to Duck-Yard Hospital for treatment. Security personnel from Victoria Island also assisted at the scene.
LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, expressed condolences to the deceased's family and urged motorists to avoid excessive speed and reckless driving. This incident follows a warning from the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Olufemi Dare, regarding motorists traveling at speeds of around 120 km/h on the coastal road, where the speed limit is 30 km/h.
A similar fatal crash occurred in August involving a speeding trailer.
