Olubadan Reforms: Credibility Over Financial Influence

During a conference held at the Olubadan Palace in Ibadan North Local Government Area, Oba Rashidi Ladoja declared that only credible leaders will be permitted to enter the Olubadan chieftaincy line. This decision is part of a new reform aimed at preserving the integrity of the traditional institution and ensuring that credible individuals ascend the revered ladder. Ladoja emphasized that financial influence will no longer determine entry into the Olubadan line, with a new standard set to benefit future generations. Prospective entrants, particularly at the Jagun level, must meet specific criteria, including educational qualifications, exposure, and verified contributions to community development. The Olubadan Advisory Council supports these reforms, which involve three screening committees to assess applicants. Ladoja congratulated the newly appointed Jagun Olubadan, selected from 102 applicants, and urged continued efforts toward community development and youth empowerment.
