Ekiti SUBEB to Recruit Only Qualified Primary School Teachers

Prof. Femi Akinwumi, the Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), stated that only qualified and competent candidates will be recruited in the ongoing primary school teachers’ recruitment exercise in Ekiti State. This initiative is crucial for ensuring quality teaching at the primary school level, which Akinwumi emphasized is vital for the academic development of pupils.

He made these remarks in a statement released in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, following a four-day interview process for shortlisted candidates. Akinwumi confirmed that candidates would be selected strictly based on merit and relevant qualifications, with only those possessing the requisite certificates being considered.

The recruitment exercise aims to fill existing vacancies and address teacher shortages, particularly in rural areas. Akinwumi praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for approving the recruitment to enhance educational standards, asserting that the board will not compromise on the future of pupils.
