Onuigbo Advocates for Nigeria's Climate Leadership in London

Onuigbo participated as a panellist at London Climate Week, where he promoted Nigeria’s climate leadership and highlighted the significance of the Climate Change Act of 2021, which he described as a landmark legislation that strengthens climate governance and provides a solid legal framework for the country's transition to a low-carbon economy. He noted that despite growing geopolitical tensions and increasing pressure on multilateral institutions, Nigeria remains committed to dialogue and cooperation in climate solutions capable of delivering sustainable economic growth.

Earlier, Onuigbo attended the Nigeria Climate Investment Summit, a flagship event during London Climate Action Week, which convened global legislators, investors, and climate leaders to explore pathways for financing Nigeria's clean energy transition and sustainable development agenda. He commended Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for announcing plans to host Lagos Climate Action Week in partnership with global legislators, emphasizing that this initiative would deepen climate dialogue and expand investment opportunities, reinforcing Africa's role in driving global climate solutions.
