Onwa Redeems N10m Pledge for Women's Golf Development

Samuel Anyamel, popularly known as Onwa, has redeemed a N10 million pledge to the Ladi Golf Association Nigeria (LGAN) in preparation for the Africa Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT). This pledge was made during the inauguration of the LGAN's 2025-2027 executive committee on February 14 at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Golf Club in Abuja.

The AACT is scheduled for November 1, 2026. Onwa, a businessman and former vice president of the Nigeria Golf Federation, expressed his delight in supporting initiatives that advance women's golf in Nigeria.

He emphasized the importance of government support to ensure the success of hosting major tournaments, which can positively impact tourism and the economy. Lami Ahm, the president of LGAN, and Wasilat Nana Abubakar, the national treasurer, were present during the donation.

Abubakar commended Onwa for his consistent support, noting that the contribution would significantly aid preparations for the AACT and strengthen the platform for female golfers in Nigeria.
