Onyejeocha Sponsors N5m Surgery in Free Medical Outreach

Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, conducted her 19th free medical and surgery outreach from July 23 to 30 at Mbalano General Hospital in Isuikwuato and Madam Suzanna Mba Health Centre in Umunneochi. This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Health.

Onyejeocha sponsored the treatment of a baby born without an anus, estimated to cost about N5 million, highlighting the financial struggles of the young mother who could not afford N50,000 for the treatment. The outreach aimed to assist approximately 5,000 patients, driven by the rising number of cases and the inability of many to pay hospital bills.

Onyejeocha emphasized that this program is a family tradition, initiated long before her political career. She also mentioned the use of her hospital for the outreach, which had previously been vandalized.

If she returns to the National Assembly, she plans to scrutinize government health policies.
