Ooni Advocates Agbeyewa Farm Model for Job Creation

Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi has endorsed the Agbeyewa farm model as a strategic approach to address insecurity and joblessness in Ekiti State. Speaking at the 3rd Annual Traditional Ruler Retreat in Ikogosi, Ogunwusi urged the federal government to adopt this model, which aims to convert vast forest areas into farmland.

The initiative is expected to significantly reduce crime rates, particularly in the Ekiti North senatorial district, which has previously been identified as a high-risk security corridor. The chairman of Cavista Hold, Niyi Olajid, highlighted that Agbeyewa Farm is one of the largest cassava farms globally and aims to create thousands of jobs while enhancing food security.

Ogunwusi emphasized the need for the Ekiti State government to create an enabling environment for investment and called for traditional rulers to encourage agricultural investments. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to industrialize Nigeria through large-scale commercial agriculture, which is essential for economic development and youth empowerment.
