Ooni Urges Peaceful Conduct Ahead of Osun Election

Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, called on politicians in Osun State to embrace peace and shun violence as the state prepares for the governorship election scheduled for August 15. He made this appeal during a visit from the leadership of the Imo Campaign Council, led by Wale Oladipo, who is the National Secretary of the People's Democratic Party.

The delegation included Kola Adewusi, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, and Lere Oyewumi, the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate. Ogunwusi urged all political parties to avoid hate speech and actions that could destabilize the state, emphasizing that the world is watching Osun.

He expressed the importance of a peaceful election process, stating that violence should not be part of the campaign. Wale Oladipo assured that the campaign would focus on peace and development, highlighting the infrastructural progress made under Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration.
