Traditionalists Urge Peace Ahead of Osun Governorship Poll

Traditionalists in Osun State have warned gubernatorial candidates against turning the upcoming August 15 governorship election into a do-or-die affair. During a press briefing in Osogbo, Dr. Oluseyi Atanda, President of Trwaso, conveyed messages from Ifa divination, urging candidates to prioritize peace and avoid actions that could lead to violence.

He stated that the Ifa oracle promised a hitch-free election if stakeholders engage positively. Atanda called on politicians to refrain from inflammatory rhetoric and to involve themselves in ensuring a peaceful electoral process.

He also highlighted a concerning rise in violent crime in the state, attributing it to political hoodlums and cultists. Traditional rulers were urged to unite and invoke ancestral support to protect the state from violence.

The Ifa messages emphasized the importance of cooperation and warned against complacency, urging citizens to pray for peaceful elections.
