APC Aspirant Declares Opposition "Dead" in Kwara State

Abdulrasheed Akogun, an aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Kwara State House of Assembly, declared that the opposition in Kwara State is "dead." During a screening exercise in Ilorin, he highlighted the significant interest in the APC, with 158 aspirants competing for the party's ticket across 24 state constituencies ahead of the 2027 general elections. Akogun commended the screening committee for conducting a seamless and credible process.

He attributed the high number of aspirants to the effective leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, whose performance has reportedly strengthened the party's position in the state. Akogun, who has served as the Director of Media and Publicity for Abdulrazaq's campaign organization during the 2019 governorship election, expressed confidence that the APC would maintain political control in Kwara State, asserting that securing the party's ticket provides aspirants with an 80% advantage in the upcoming elections.
