Opposition Critiques Trump's Letter to Tinubu on Security

Opposition parties in Nigeria have criticized the Presidency's announcement of a commendation letter from U.S. President Donald Trump to President Bola Tinubu, praising his "decisive leadership" in combating insecurity.

The letter also mentioned the deployment of U.S. Special Operations Forces, including Navy SEAL Team 6, to assist the Nigerian military in fighting terrorism.

However, opposition figures, including Osa Director of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, dismissed the letter as irrelevant, arguing that it does not reflect the actual security challenges faced by Nigerians. Director emphasized that the government should be judged by the real conditions on the ground rather than diplomatic letters.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, expressed skepticism about the letter's authenticity, suggesting that it might be misleading.

Major Agbo, National Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party, also voiced concerns, indicating a broader discontent with the government's handling of security issues.
