Makinde to Brief Oyo State on Oriire Abduction Rescue

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State announced that he will formally brief the public next week about the circumstances surrounding the abduction and subsequent rescue of a pupil and teacher in Oriire Local Government Area. The victims, who were held captive for 56 days, are currently receiving medical treatment at a military hospital in Ibadan.

Governor Makinde visited the victims and medical personnel involved in their care, emphasizing the importance of a thorough medical evaluation over the next 48 hours to assess their physical and psychological conditions. He noted that the state government is committed to ensuring a sensitive reunification process for the young girl, who has repeatedly expressed a desire to see her mother.

The governor appealed for patience from the residents of Oyo State as medical experts continue to monitor the victims' recovery. He assured the public that a comprehensive account of the events surrounding the abduction and rescue operation will be provided.
