ACF, ADC Urge Tinubu to Expand Kidnapping Rescue Strategy

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to extend the security strategy that led to the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire, Oyo State, to other kidnapping incidents across Nigeria. In a statement from ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party emphasized that the operation in Oyo should set a standard for responding to kidnappings nationwide, irrespective of the victims' backgrounds.

President Tinubu, during a meeting with traditional rulers from Oyo State, highlighted that his administration opted against negotiating with kidnappers, instead focusing on security operations. The ACF, represented by its National Publicity Secretary, Professor Tukur Muhammad Baba, echoed this sentiment, expressing hope that the method used in Oyo would be applied to rescue other victims, particularly in Borno and Kwara.

Both organizations criticized the government's silence regarding the fate of other abducted individuals, urging a consistent approach to combating kidnapping.
