Terrorists Demand Family Release for Kidnapped Victims

Terrorists involved in the kidnapping of pupils and teachers proposed to exchange their captives for the release of their family members. Security agencies, through intelligence gathering, arrested several wives and children of the kidnappers across Nigeria.

The operation was coordinated by senior officials from the Department of State Services (DSS), who had surrounded the terrorists' hideout in a national park forest to block escape routes. The terrorists initially demanded the release of detained commanders and ransom payments, specifically requesting the release of Mahmud Usman, also known as Abu Bara, and other leaders linked to Ansaru and Boko Haram.

However, their demands were rejected. Following the arrests, a final assault was launched, resulting in the deaths of eight terrorists and the rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers.

The operation aimed to prevent further harm to the victims and dismantle the terrorist network.
