Scholars Call for Special Judicial Panels to Combat Crime

Scholars and professionals are urging the Nigerian federal government to establish special judicial panels across the six geopolitical zones to expedite the prosecution of terrorism and kidnapping cases. This proposal was presented by Dr.

Olusegun K. Ahmad, the General Secretary of the Yoruba Leadership and Peace Initiative (TYLPI), and Olufemi Adefemiwa, an elder statesman.

They emphasized that swift prosecution and appropriate punishment are essential to strengthen the nation's momentum against violent crime. The call for these panels follows successful security operations that rescued kidnapped schoolchildren and a teacher in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The leaders commended President Bola Tinubu and the Oyo State Government for their efforts in ensuring the safety of citizens and highlighted the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments to address national security challenges. They urged the government to maintain momentum until every Nigerian can live, work, and attend school without fear.
