Oyo Panel Seeks Public Input on Oriire Abduction Case

The Judicial Commission of Enquiry established by the Oyo State Government is investigating the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in the Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area. The Commission, led by Secretary Mrs.

Olamide Sandra Tella, has called for public memoranda to gather relevant information regarding the circumstances surrounding the abduction. This includes details on the incident, security conditions before and after, and the responses from authorities and communities.

Submissions must include full names, contact details, and any supporting documents, and can be made physically at the Commission’s Secretariat in Ibadan or electronically. The deadline for submissions is August 14, 2026.

Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated the Commission on July 31, 2023, with the aim of establishing facts about the abduction and recommending measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
