IGP Disu Mourns Slain Officer, Commends Rescue Team

On Friday, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu expressed his condolences for a police officer who was killed during a joint security operation aimed at rescuing abducted schoolchildren and a teacher in Orire Local Government Area, Oyo State. Speaking in Abuja, IGP Disu praised the bravery of the rescue team and acknowledged the officer's sacrifice in the line of duty.

He noted that the officer sustained injuries during the operation and assured that the police force would continue to support the welfare of the slain officer's family and those injured. IGP Disu highlighted the importance of collaboration among security agencies in combating insecurity and urged the public to assist by providing information to improve operational efficiency.

He emphasized that the police officers involved in the operation viewed the abducted children as their own and were committed to their safe return.
