Ortom Urges Alia to Focus on Governance Ahead of 2027

Samuel Ortom, through his former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Terver Akase, criticized Governor Alia for not addressing the reported obstruction of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDC), during his humanitarian visit to Benue State. Ortom stated that instead of clarifying the situation, the Alia administration focused on attacking political opponents.

He called for accountability regarding state resources since the removal of the fuel subsidy and questioned the government's handling of insecurity, agriculture, infrastructure, employment, education, healthcare, and the welfare of internally displaced persons (IDPs). Ortom also condemned the government's response to a recent attack in Ayilamo, Logo Local Government Area.

He refuted claims of secretly supporting Obi while backing President Bola Tinubu, asserting that his political positions were publicly declared. Ortom suggested that the attention on Aondoakaa indicated he was a serious challenger to Alia in the upcoming 2027 election, emphasizing that the election would be determined by the government's performance rather than propaganda.
