Alia Accuses Ortom of Backing Obi for 2027 Elections

Hyacinth Alia, the Governor of Benue State, alleged that his predecessor, Samuel Ortom, is covertly supporting Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, for the 2027 elections. Alia stated that despite Ortom's public assertions of backing President Bola Tinubu's re-election, he is actually working for Obi.

This claim was made during a press briefing at the government house in Makurdi, communicated through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula. Alia supported his assertion by alleging that Ortom quickly provided his SUV to transport Obi away from an attack by suspected thugs during Obi's recent visit to Benue.

Alia also criticized Ortom's previous administration, describing it as ineffective and lacking in development, and warned the public against Ortom's alliance with Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, suggesting it was a futile attempt to regain political influence. He urged the people to reject the Peoples Democratic Party in the upcoming elections.
