Osimhen to Undergo Surgery, Thanks Mikel and Ighalo

Victor Osimhen, a 27-year-old striker, confirmed that he will undergo surgery for a fractured right forearm, with an expected recovery time of six weeks. This injury was sustained during Galatasaray's 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League at Anfield.

Osimhen disclosed the extent of his injury during a livestream, where he also expressed gratitude for the support from Galatasaray. He is set to miss key league fixtures, including matches against Trabzonspor and Kocaelispor, and faces a race to be fit for the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26.

Osimhen has registered 19 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season. Additionally, he shared a personal story involving former Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel, recalling a gesture from Mikel during their time together in the national team, which left a lasting impression on him.

Mikel, who retired from international football in 2019, was praised by Osimhen for his significant influence.
