Osimhen Supports Güneş After Galatasaray's Cup Exit

Victor Osimhen, a striker for Galatasaray, expressed support for goalkeeper Gökhan Güneş following the club's unexpected exit from the Turkish Cup. Galatasaray lost 2-0 to Gençlerbirliği in the quarter-finals, a defeat that was particularly surprising as they had just faced the same opponent in a Turkish Super League match.

Güneş, who made his 14th appearance of the season, faced criticism for two significant mistakes that contributed to the loss. The first error allowed Gençlerbirliği to take the lead in the 51st minute, and the second mistake involved misjudging a corner, leading to a second goal.

After the match, Güneş was visibly emotional and broke down in tears. Osimhen took to social media to defend his teammate, stating that mistakes are part of football and do not define a player.

He thanked fans for their support. Galatasaray, currently leading the Super Lig with 71 points, will focus on their league title defense against rivals Fenerbahçe at Ram Park on Sunday.
