Osimhen to Return in October After Injury Setback

Victor Osimhen, the striker for Galatasaray, is expected to return from an adductor muscle strain in October after being sidelined for three matches. He sustained the injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir on Friday, where he scored the opening goal before leaving the pitch in the 33rd minute.

A subsequent scan confirmed a strain in his right adductor muscle, as reported by Turkish outlet Le Marca Sports. Osimhen will miss Galatasaray’s Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon and Super Lig fixtures against Kocaelispor and Trabzonspor.

He may return for the Turkish Cup match against Kasımpaşa on October 11, followed by a Champions League encounter with Barcelona on October 13. Medical examinations at Acıbadem Hospital revealed a moderate-to-advanced strain with bleeding in his right adductor muscle.

This injury poses a challenge for Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk and could also concern Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
