Aregbesola Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Re-election

Former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, congratulated Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun after the gubernatorial election held on August 15, 2026. The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, the winner with 511,067 votes, while his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, garnered 444,815 votes.

Aregbesola emphasized the importance of respecting the election outcome and urged Adeleke to view his victory as a renewed mandate to govern all residents fairly. He called for unity and development in the state and praised the voters for their participation.

Aregbesola also commended the African Democratic Congress and its candidate, Najeem Folasayo Salaam, for their commitment during the campaign, highlighting Salaam's dignified conduct and the campaign's focus on ideas and service. He appealed to all political actors to promote peace and unity in Osun.
