Oyebamiji Selects Adereti as Running Mate for Osun 2026

Bola Oyebamiji, representing the candidacy of the Progressives Congress, has chosen Benjamin Adereti as his running mate for the upcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. Adereti previously contested for a House of Representatives seat in 2023 but was defeated by Bimbo Ajilesoro of the People's Democratic Party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released a final list of candidates, which includes various political parties. Notably, Najeem Salaam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, is contesting under the African Democratic Congress with a female running mate, Yemisi Agiri.

Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke will retain his current deputy, Kola Adewusi, as his running mate. The INEC's final list of candidates was signed by Secretary Dr.

Rose Oriaran-Anthony on March 4, 2026, and includes candidates from 14 political parties.
