CJAN Urges Osun Youths to Demand Accountability in Elections

The Citizens' Justice Advocacy Network (CJAN) has called on young voters in Osun State to move beyond mere party loyalty and campaign promises as they prepare for the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. In a statement made by Managing Director Ajayi, the organization urged youths to evaluate candidates based on their competence, character, track record, and policy proposals.

CJAN emphasized that young voters should demand clear commitments from candidates regarding issues that impact their future, such as employment, education, and healthcare. The organization highlighted that the 2,339,233 registered voters in Osun represent significant electoral power, which should translate into greater representation and accountability.

The election will feature 14 candidates, including incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, and ADC candidate Najeem Salaam. CJAN encouraged young voters to scrutinize candidates' programs and policies rather than voting along party lines.
