Osun APC and Accord Clash Over Local Government Funds

The Osun State chapter of the APC, represented by Bola Oyebamiji, has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of withholding documents essential for the payment of salaries to local government staff. This situation has reportedly caused confusion and suffering among local government personnel.

The APC's campaign council, through co-chairman Kola Olabisi, stated that Adeleke's actions are detrimental to the welfare of innocent residents and have hindered local governance. They expressed astonishment at the governor's decision to withdraw documents that could enable a court appeal to reinstate local government chairmen and councillors, thereby facilitating salary payments.

In response, Accord's chairman Victor Akand dismissed the APC's allegations as poorly scripted and an attempt to divert public attention from financial mismanagement within the local government system. Akand accused APC members of trying to blackmail the Adeleke administration and insisted that the people of Osun deserve transparency and accountability from their leaders.
