Osun APC Accuses Accord Party of Spreading Falsehoods

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement on Friday, accusing the Accord Party of disseminating falsehoods related to pre-election violence as the August 15 governorship election approaches. Kola Olabisi, APC's Director of Media, specifically rejected claims that linked their governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to acts of violence and political misconduct.

The APC described these allegations as fabrications aimed at influencing public opinion during a critical campaign period. They urged members and the public to dismiss the claims, asserting that their candidate, known as Ambo, is focused on a peaceful campaign.

The APC expressed confidence in their chances in the upcoming election and criticized the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, suggesting dissatisfaction among voters could impact the election outcome. Additionally, Adewal Egbedun, a spokesperson for the Accord Party, accused the APC of orchestrating violence and called for the immediate redeployment of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, alleging partisanship.
