Osun APC Rejects Adeleke's Claims of Presidential Pressure

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims made by Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding alleged pressure from the Presidency to defect to the APC. In a statement issued by Kola Olabisi, the APC's Director of Media and Information, the party described Adeleke's allegations as illogical and a contrivance.

The comments were reportedly influenced by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who claimed during an interview that Adeleke had become emotional over the purported pressure to join the APC. The APC challenged Adeleke to identify the individuals allegedly pressuring him, asserting that his claims lack substance and are unfounded.

They also emphasized that Adeleke's attempts to defect have faced resistance and that he has not reported any coercion. The APC further distanced itself from any suggestion that they would welcome Adeleke, with Timothy Owoey, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, stating that the party is not for sale to the highest bidder.

Additionally, Kola Adewusi, a member of the State Executive Council, defected from the PDP on December 10, 2025.
