Osun APC Demands Resignation of Chief of Staff Akinley

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has demanded the resignation of Kazeem Akinley, the Chief of Staff to Governor Ademola Adeleke, due to allegations of threats made during a payroll audit consultation involving Saadat Bakrin Ottun. The controversy arose from accusations that the state government, particularly Akinley, concealed a multi-billion naira fraud during the verification exercise.

In response, the state government, represented by spokesperson Salli Tibbot, denied these allegations, asserting that Akinley has been classified as an efficient Chief of Staff and has received multiple awards for his performance. APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi criticized Akinley’s role in the controversy, claiming it demonstrated that he does not deserve his position.

However, Olawal Rashe, another spokesperson for the governor, defended Akinley, emphasizing his mastery of governance processes and his role in preventing financial losses. Rashe urged the APC to present evidence of wrongdoing to anti-corruption agencies instead of conducting a media trial against government officials.
