Fadahunsi Clarifies Controversial Statement on Violence

Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing the Osun East Senatorial District and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), issued a clarification regarding a controversial statement he made that appeared to call for violence against members of the Accord Party. This statement was made during a gathering of APC supporters in Ilesa, Osun State, and circulated widely on social media.

Fadahunsi explained that his comments were intended as a political expression urging APC supporters to defeat the Accord Party through their votes, not to incite physical attacks. His media office released a statement titled “Kill Osun Accord with Votes, Not Violence,” emphasizing that his words were metaphorical.

Fadahunsi reiterated his commitment to democratic values and peaceful electoral processes, urging all political actors and supporters to conduct themselves peacefully during the upcoming governorship election. He also called on security agencies to ensure that voters can exercise their rights without fear or intimidation.
