Davido Urges Respect for Osun Voters' Choice Amid Election

Nigerian music star David Adeleke, known as Davido, appealed to House of Representatives member James Faleke to respect the decision of voters in Osun State amid the ongoing collation of results from the governorship election held on August 15. In a post on his X account, Davido, who is related to Governor Ademola Adeleke, alleged attempts to influence the electoral process and insisted that the wishes of the electorate must be honored.

He specifically urged Faleke to refrain from pressuring the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to alter the election results, stating, “James Faleke, stop putting pressure on INEC to change Osun election result. Respect the wishes of Osun people.

We don’t want Oyetola and AMBO.” This statement comes as results from various local government areas are being collated, with political stakeholders closely monitoring the situation. The Osun governorship election is viewed as a significant test of Nigeria’s electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
