Davido Appeals to Trump for Peace in Osun Election

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has made an appeal to U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the forthcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15.

In a post shared on X, Davido expressed concerns about possible violence and disruption of the electoral process, urging the international community to monitor the election. He emphasized the need for Osun residents to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely and without fear, stating, “We do not want bloodshed.

We do not want intimidation. We want peace, transparency, and a free and fair election.” Davido, who is the nephew of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has been vocal about supporting his uncle’s re-election bid and has previously warned that he would seek Trump’s intervention if the electoral process was compromised.

The election will see Ademola Adeleke contesting against candidates including Bola Oyebamiji from the All Progressives Congress and Najeem Salaam from the African Democratic Congress.
