Tensions Rise at Osun Polling Unit During Election

During the governorship election in Osun State on Saturday, a fight broke out at the polling unit of Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi, who is also the deputy governorship candidate for the Accord Party, in Ile-Ife. The incident transpired when Benjamin Kayode Adereti, the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), arrived at Adewusi's polling unit after casting his ballot at his designated polling unit, Waasin Polling Unit 11, Ilaare Ward 3.

Adereti's presence was met with resistance from some of Adewusi's supporters, resulting in a heated confrontation that briefly disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere at the polling location. Supporters exchanged words, and tensions escalated.

As of the time of reporting, the reason for Adereti's visit to Adewusi's polling unit remained unclear, but it appeared to have unsettled some of the deputy governor's supporters.
