Police Summon Senator Fadahunsi Over Violent Comments

The Commissioner of Police for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election, Samuel Etaifo, has summoned Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents the Osun East Senatorial District, to clarify comments attributed to him regarding violence against Accord Party members. Fadahunsi allegedly stated that any Accord Party member seen in Ilesa before the upcoming Saturday governorship election should be killed.

Etaifo condemned these remarks, urging political office holders to avoid inciting hate and to promote peace during the election period. He emphasized that the police are committed to neutrality and professionalism, warning against any actions or statements that could incite violence or disrupt public peace.

The invitation to Fadahunsi is intended to foster mutual understanding and ensure a peaceful electoral process, and it should not be viewed as intimidation. Etaifo called on all political actors and the public to remain law-abiding and to express grievances through lawful means.
