Police Question Senator Fadahunsi Over Threatening Comments

The Osun State Police Command invited Senator Francis Fadahunsi for questioning due to controversial remarks he allegedly made concerning members of the Accord Party ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Commissioner of Police Samuel Etaifo stated that the invitation was a preventive measure to avoid escalating tensions.

Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, reportedly made a statement during an event in Ilesa that was interpreted as a threat against Accord Party members. This comment drew criticism from political actors and raised concerns about the safety of opposition supporters.

The police clarified that the invitation was not intended to intimidate Fadahunsi but to foster mutual understanding for peace and security. Etaifo reaffirmed the police's commitment to neutrality and professionalism during the electoral process, warning against any conduct that could disrupt public order.

Governor Ademola Adeleke is seeking re-election on the Accord Party platform, while Bola Oyebamiji is the candidate for the All Progressives Congress.
