Osun Govt Accuses APC of Disrupting Tinubu's Visit

The Osun State government has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is plotting to disrupt President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's visit scheduled for tomorrow. In a statement issued on Friday, Governor Kolapo Alimi described the APC's plan as a "sinister" attempt to stage self-sponsored protests aimed at creating unrest and blackmailing the state government led by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Alimi urged residents to remain calm and abide by the law, advising them to avoid Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo during the visit to prevent being caught in any protests. He emphasized that neither the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nor the Accord Party is involved in the alleged protests.

Alimi further claimed that the protests are a diversionary tactic intended to portray the Adeleke administration negatively as political activities intensify ahead of the August 8, 2026, governorship election. In response, the APC dismissed the allegations as baseless and unfounded, urging the public to disregard the claims and maintain peace during the president's visit.
