APC Launches Campaign Council for Osun Governorship Election

On Tuesday, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), inaugurated a national campaign council consisting of 292 members for the Osun State off-season governorship election set for August 15. Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, will lead the council.

Professor Yilwatda emphasized that this election serves as a litmus test for the APC, being the last governorship election before the 2027 general elections. He stated that winning in Osun is essential for the party's future, and the campaign will focus on grassroots mobilization across various ethnic groups.

The campaign strategy includes person-to-person outreach, with a particular emphasis on mobilizing women through the Directorate of Women Affairs. Uzodimma expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the council and committed to an issue-based campaign, urging party leaders to unite in support of the APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.
