APC Launches 100-Member Election Monitoring Committee

On Wednesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) inaugurated a 100-member Election Monitoring and Mobilisation Committee in Ile-Ogbo, Osun West Senatorial District, as part of its strategy to strengthen grassroots campaigning for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. The committee was established by Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, the party’s Osun West senatorial leader, to ensure effective monitoring of the electoral process and to provide credible documentation for potential post-election litigation.

The event was attended by several party leaders, including Hon. Akintola Omolaoye, the Chairman of the APC in Osun West and a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly. Ogunbiyi emphasized the need for comprehensive record-keeping of election activities, from the distribution of sensitive materials to the final collation of results.

The committee consists of educated party members from the 10 local government areas in the senatorial district, with 10 representatives from each area. Members will oversee election activities, operate a district situation room, and document the electoral process to safeguard the party’s interests.
