Ikire Progressive Union Backs APC's Oyebamiji for Governor

The Ikire Progressive Union (IPU) has officially endorsed Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming Osun State governorship election set for August 15, 2026. This decision was made during a joint meeting of the union’s Executive Council and Elders’ Forum, where they assessed the current political landscape in Osun State.

The endorsement was communicated through a statement signed by the union's president, Dr. Ademola Akinromade, and General Secretary, Michael Omoloye.

The IPU highlighted the importance of community identity and collective aspirations in the political arena, urging residents of Ikire Kingdom and voters across Osun State to support Oyebamiji, who is recognized as an illustrious son of Ikire Kingdom. The union noted that Ikire has historically supported candidates from other towns and is now appealing for reciprocal support for their own candidate.
